Manchester Dates Confirmed

G-Mex Revisited
After the original National Motorcycle Show back in January was canned due to the extreme weather conditions that saw many exhibitors unable to even get to their places of work, let alone travel into snowbound Greater Manchester, the good news is that the Manchester Central venue (previously and colloquially known as G-Mex) is set to have the show rescheduled for Easter weekend – that’s the first weekend in April for those of you who can’t keep track of the elusive Christian celebration of Easter...
With the change in date comes some changes in the line-up, plus the options of a more comfortable ride into the city centre to take advantage of the free bike parking.
Elsie Wilkes & David Banks

It is with deep regret that we have to inform members of the passing of both Elsie Wilkes & David Banks who were friends to many of us through their tireless work for charity. Firstly for the Jumbo GB Organisation, and more recently the David Cooper Memorial Run.
Like many of us we knew Elsie and David very well, in fact for over 25 years, and you can be sure if there are pearly gates up there, then Elsie will certainly glide through them with David.

As part of the British Motorcyclists Federation’s 50th year celebrations, the bmf’s Tail End show is on the move! After ten years at Peterborough’s East of England Showground, Tail End will move to the stunning Lincolnshire Events Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground.

This is the first major initiative from the bmf’s new event organisers the Mulberry Group and comes after a thorough review of the whole of the bmf’s events’ portfolio.
Signalling a complete overhaul for Tail End with a new location, fresh layout and new attractions, the Lincolnshire Events Centre (www.lincs-events.co.uk), located on the main A15 just 2 miles north of Lincoln, was readily identified as being in the right place and with the right facilities for this major initiative. Recently benefiting from a £7.8 million investment programme, the massive 205 acre site also offers over 3,000m² of indoor exhibition space in addition to the external exhibition areas.

It will come as no surprise to members that Donington Park have lost the contract for the British Formula 1 GP next year. The question is where do Donington go from here. We certainly don't know, but can suggest that they reduce their rents drastically to try and get exhibitors to return to whatever events they have left for their 2010 schedule.
